Description

This piece was made over 3 months, and made from 2 computers, 2 computer monitors (one flat screen), 1 set of fairy lights, hardrives, diskdrives, and wires that came from many a broken thing lying around my room, or from the actual computer itself.

About the piece:
Inspired by the 1960's movement art povera and it's leading artist Micheangelo Pistoletto.
Is inspired by my own personality, as i broke the computer (the first one) in a fit of rage. So the piece became a self portrait, and entrapment of my feelings, my energy in a hard mechanic shell.
The piece was also about function, and the idea of function which is what Art Povera looked at closely, the idea of function in this aspect grew from it just being a computer, but a sponge for our personailty, WE become part of it, it's hardrive, the heart and/or brain of the workings of a PC.
Interestingly, the piece due to it's main source of inspiration, Art Povera, i decided to withdraw all outside causes that would enable it to become 'stable', so the piece is held together not with glue, or screws, just balance, and knots. These knots are made from the wire of the computer, the gut, the nervous system of intricacy that forms it's electrical circuit.

With this piece i exhibited my workbook, or sketchbook with all my inner workings surrounding and creating the piece. Hope you like it, and that it makes sense :)

It's beautiful how you've written an actual description to the artwork, I've never thought anyone could describe like that in deviantART.
Second to say, I'd point on the unstable part of the work. If the work was a triangle, with the tip on the floor and it's base in the air, I would call it unstable. If the work is a box, I think it's quite stable.
I understand the lines create a bit of an unstable feeling, but they're on a box and moreover, the box is on a super-stable surface.
I agree though about this - "Is inspired by my own personality, as i broke the computer (the first one) in a fit of rage. So the piece became a self portrait, and entrapment of my feelings, my energy in a hard mechanic shell." it's amazing how you've even thought of it, and so true, but I think you could promote that idea rather than the stable part.
